In-depth technical details

We think it is useful to inform you of everything there is to know about technology and the operation of the spark plug wires.

Follow our technicians’ advice for assembly and diagnosis.

Spark plug wires play an important role in the ignition system, they have to conduct the current from the apparatus that generates voltage to the spark plugs, and all of this has to be done, if possible, without any losses.

Currently, depending on the vehicle, the following power supply types are found:

mechanical ignition distributor
electronic ignition module
electronic semi-direct ignition or double spark ignition coil
Ignition cables must have characteristics that resist and ensure the passing of the necessary voltage that can be as high as 30000 V, there must be no loss of current in the circuit so as to avoid start-up problems.
